Reunions

Hey y'all! This past weekend was my 25th high school reunion. I love reunions of any kind. This one was really great too. We always did have a marvelous class of kids all through high school. Our class president is still the most organized guy in the world. He assembled a group of classmates that were outstanding at finding people and coaxing some to come for the first time in 25 years to any reunion. It was good to see all the sweet faces, familiar smiles and voices I have not heard in years saying hello with genuine friendship in their eyes. I hugged old girlfriends and a few old boyfriends. Several people told spouses of secret crushes on others and to see those smiles on their faces was precious. My own husband, David, pointed out a former guy who really liked me and I ran over to hug his neck as fast as I could. We were in the 7th grade when he thought I was so great! Needless to say his girl now was wonderful. We have lost only 3 classmates. Not too many but it still breaks my heart. I got with my own "group" of friends and did we ever laugh over memories. We had a great DJ who played all the hits from the 80's. I danced my head off too! One guy could really dance super good and I danced with him every time I could. No one really cared how goofy they looked because we were all a little goofy looking. Sure, there were plenty of gray hairs, bald spot, thicker waists and a few wrinkles here and there but mostly just the class of '83...together again.
It makes me long for the reunion I will get to go to in heaven. Long gone grandparents, two babies we lost years ago and one dear friend I lost just last year. And of course the ultimate reunion with Jesus. I can't wait to run and hug His neck either.

Bless Y'all

All I have to say....

It is 11:20 in the morning and lets just say that in addition to crafts I am officially allergic to yard sales. It is beyond my comprehension how anyone can look you in the eye and after telling them that something is a quarter they really say, "Will you take a dime"? Are you kidding me? I hate yard sales.

Bless Y'all (me too...I really need a blessing)

Yard Sale

I am having a yard sale tomorrow and I dread it more than a root canal on a front tooth. This is really a yard sale my daughters are having. They want to get rid of all their old stuff from college and their teen years. It is a gigantic mess around here! Of course I am doing most of the work and am getting none of the profit. But I suppose that is a sacrifice than moms just make (dopey ones!). Looking around my house I have thrown in a couple of things but to tell you the truth, I like my stuff. I have several pieces of clothing that are too small but I plan on losing weight. So all those are keepers. Erica, my oldest, throws out the paper before you even finish reading it so she just rolls her eyes whenever I cling to my stuff. Megan, my youngest, totally understands the " I might use this later" statement. I rank having yard sales right up there with crafts on my list of favorite things but hopefully the girls will turn a nice profit. Erica is getting married next year and Megan is still in college so every penny counts. I just hope I don't have to make too many trips to the local Goodwill drop off tomorrow afternoon!

Bless Y'all!
