Nine Months Old...

Savannah you are nine months old today!!!  You had a check up and also got a shot.  Ouch!!  You are 28 inches long and weigh 20 pounds and 4 ounces!!  You are a super healthy baby!  You are crawling everywhere and starting to pull up on stuff.  You love eating and eat just about everything.  Your daddy and mommy have two very good eaters.  Not a picky one in sight!  You are the cuddliest baby in the world.  You love snuggling and you hug so good!  Such a little sweetie.  You are a great sleeper too.  You have some cranky moments but for the most part you are so sweet.  You are still brown headed and have the biggest blue eyes ever.  Still just two teeth but a couple more are working their way through.  I just love you to pieces and can't get enough of you!!

What Mimi?  Time for my photo shoot you say??

Will Mr. Frog ever turn into a real Prince??  He just isn't the guy for me I think.

What???  I need to kiss him and see if he turns into a prince!!  That is just silly, Mimi!

I think I have just the thing to help me turn him into a prince.  Help me down and I will fix him right up!

Every Princess needs a magic wand...that will fix anything!

Finally....The Sun!!

It has been the longest, wettest winter that I can remember.  Not super duper cold but goodness have we had the rain.  My yard is just soppy.  It has also been so cloudy.  Even on days that the rain has held off....clouds.  Yucky gray clouds too.  But today the sun came out.  It was 58 degrees but the wind was cool and whipping a little.  But after lunch we went outside for a bit.  I really think it does everyone good to be outside.  So off to the yard we went.

Just last fall Piper was afraid to climb the ladder part of her slide.  Today she zipped right up.  No questions asked.

See, Mimi...I can do it...myself!  She is getting to be Miss Independent.  Growing up way too fast.

Savannah loves to swing.  She liked going high too.  She even started kicking her legs when the swing slowed down.

Smelling the first daffodils of the season.  Spring cannot be far away!!!

I love playing outside with these sweet girls!!  So fun!

Can I eat this Mimi??  I haven't had a snack in thirty minutes!!!

Cousin Love

Tonight my former sister in law,Mary, and former mother in law came over and brought  Mary's new baby over for us to see.  She is so precious!!!  Mary has two girls.  Macy is 16 months and Emmy is just 6 weeks old.  We lined them all up on the couch and tried (HA-HA) to get a decent photo.  After 30 shots I gave up.  They were too funny and so not ready for any kind of photo shoot.  Take a look...

Emmy is falling over, Savannah is confused, Macy is ready to go and Piper refused to take off a headband that was on backwards.

Mimi!!  I am blinded by the flash!!  Only Macy was looking this time.

We called this one, "Raising The Roof".  I am thinking of making this my Christmas card this year!!

Holy Cow!!  They are done for the night!!

Mimi!!  I am DONE...quit with the flashing already!!

Only these two cooperated somewhat.  Piper loves babies and this was just too sweet!

Funny Sisters

Yesterday I was over at Blake and Erica's house to watch the girls for them to go to their Sunday School Class Valentine Party.  I shot a short video while they were eating supper.  For Savannah mealtime is serious business.  Her little hands still twirl the whole time but she will finally pick up things to eat on her own.  Piper talks the entire time she eats.  Her vocabulary is huge but the second I whip out a camera she starts speaking in tongues.  Drives me nuts.  I am still trying to catch her running and flinging herself across her bed so she can "cry" like Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella.  They are just growing up so fast I can't stand it!!  Savannah is so cute.  She will nod her head to questions like she truly is agreeing with you or really saying, "Why, yes I do...thank you for asking."  Such sweet-peas!

Rebuilding A House

Thad and Megan will be getting married later this summer and are right now in the throes of planning a wedding, working jobs, going to school (Megan) and rebuilding a very old house.  Thad's great-grandfathers old house to be exact.  I have been going over there from time to time to take some photos as kind of a before and after type album.  We went a little over a week ago to look at the progress so far.  It is amazing at all they have gotten done to this house.

Thad leading Piper up the stairs to the bonus room.  She loves her soon to be Uncle Thad.

A long shot of the future bonus room.  It is really going to be huge.  I told them a sweet set of quadruplets would look nice up here!!!

This is going to be the metal roof color and the siding color that they have picked out.  Super nice, I think.

Megan's bath tub I got her for Christmas.  I think she will love her bathroom when it is all finished.  They have a wonderful plan for the design.  I can't wait to see it!

Piper wandering from room to room with Amber, the faithful hound, following after her.

Looking out a window at the view.

Looking down a hole in the floor where an addition has been added.  Piper really likes checking all this construction out.

Savannah?  Not so much.  She was cold and could care less about rooms, tubs, views or roofs.

Former living room that will now be the master bedroom.  Everyone loves the big windows that are in this room.

Please Uncle Thad!!  I want to go see something else.  How about some animals?

Check out Megan and Thad's cows!  How do like those animals Savannah???

Or some foxhound puppies??  Aren't they the cutest things??

This sweet couple is two of my most favorite people in the world.  They are just precious to me!!

View from the back where the garage is being added.  Rebuilding takes a ton of work.  Thad's uncle and two cousins are contractors and the are doing the re-building.  They are super talented guys and are sweet as they can be too.  I know they will do an awesome job.  Soon Megan and Thad will not just have a house...they will have a home!

Piper the "Pincess"

Yesterday I was talking with my granddaughter about the important issues of life.  Mostly, being a "Pincess".  Piper is completely enthralled with anything princessy in any way, shape or form.  She only wears dress-up clothes...even sleeps in them.  She changes her princess outfit ten times a day.  I went to her house three times this week and each time I was greeted by her and she would say, "Hi Mimi, do you like my pwetty pincess dwess?"  Which I would tell her I loved it and she looked so beautiful.  She would just beam.  Oh, to be two years old again!!  I want to write these sweet things down so I will not forget them because I will.  We think we will remember but we really never do.  Right now Piper is in love with Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.  She sings their songs all the time.  It is just hilarious to hear her sing, "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes".  Another thing she does is act out little scenes from those movies.  It is amazing that she can recall all the words and the actions.  When the ugly step-sisters rip poor Cinderella's dress to pieces and she covers her face and runs to the garden is a particularly funny scene to watch Piper act out.  She gets this combo sad/angst ridden face that she covers with her little hands.  Then she will say, "No. no... I can't believe it."  She will then run and fling herself across her bed to cry.  I am trying to catch this on film but so far no luck.  At times during the day she will just fling herself on her bed and when you ask her what she is doing she will tell you that she just went to cry like a princess.  So sweet!!  We play princess and castle all the time.  We build castles out of blocks.  We do princess and castle coloring books, stickers and paper dolls.  My sweet little Savannah is going to turn out like this too.  She lights up like a Christmas tree every single time Piper comes around in her "Pincess" gear and some times Piper puts a "skuwt" on Savannah so she can be a pincess too!  I adore little girls and their whole little girl world.  For most it is just second nature to love the fairy tale and the charming prince that comes in and saves the day.  In the words of Piper..."They lived happiwy after, after."
