Seven Months Old!!

Well believe it or not, my little Savannah is seven months old!!!  Where has the time gone??  With all the Christmas gatherings going on and all the different family get-togethers to attend this is the first time I have had a chance to post her seven months pictures.

Mimi, I was taking a nap!!  Why did you wake me up?  I don't even have my socks on!

Okay, okay...I am ready.  Mr. Frog, are you ready??  What??  You forgot your pants!!!

Oh Mr. Frog...you crack me up!!  Frogs don't wear pants!  What a funny frog you are!!

Come here you silly-willy!!  Let me give you a big ole head rub!  You just keep me laughing all day long!

Okay Mimi....I am so outta here.  As soon as I figure out how to get outta here....I'm gone.

Savannah, you are just a sweetie-pie.  You finally have a tooth.  One on the bottom.  There is another one trying to peek through but it still hasn't poked all the way through yet.  You sit up really well and you roll all over the place.  You are trying to figure out the crawling thing.  You reach for whoever you want to pick you up...mostly for your mama though!!  You can pitch one more fit...let me say.  You can arch yourself backwards at lightning speed and scream your head clean off!!  You love eating.  I mean love it!!!  So far you love everything but avocados.  When your mommy and daddy put frozen bananas in your little mesh feeder you gnaw and slurp until nothing is left.  It is too funny to watch how you just cry when all the food is gone!  I love you little cuddle-bug!

Some of my favorite clips!

I really like Christmas movies and Christmas children (?) specials they put on t.v. this time of year.  It gives me something to look forward to watch annually and I can see the t.v. from my kitchen and I like to watch it while I cook.  Do not ask me how many recipes I have royally messed up because I am adhd and do not pay attention to what I just added or didn't add to whatever I am making!!

A Christmas Story

This is handsdown one of my favorite movies ever!  The narration is what does it for me.  He speaks exactly like children think.  And Randy???  What a pest.  Watch Ralphies' face as his mom dresses Randy in this ridiculous coat.

A Charlie Brown Christmas.

I look forward to this every single year.  If it ever does not come on because of some stupid idea that this show offends someone I will just cry my eyes right out!!  Linus is perfect .  He even lays down his beloved blanket to explain with his hands the "real" story of Christmas.

The Year Without A Santa Claus aka Snow Miser and Heat Miser Show!!

I adore this show!!  It is my favorite and I love the awful brothers Heat Miser and Snow Miser.  the Christmas spirit even touches their hard hearts!!!

The original...Little Drummer Boy

This little boy had lost everything he had and knew in the world.  When his little sheep, Baba, is hit by a horse and cart his world truly shatters.  Turning to man (the kings) to help him.  He sees....truly sees...that man cannot help him but the newborn King....Jesus can.  If only we would apply this to our own loves today.  This makes me cry every single time I watch it.

Now for real life.....Everybody Loves Raymond
As funny as this is it rings so very true of many families....my own included!!  Each Thanksgiving/Christmas I plan on fixing my turkey just like Debra!!!

I hope each of you have a wonder Christmas Eve!!!

Sometimes We Get Things Right....

I just love this.....it will bring tears to your eyes.

I don't know about you but I didn't see one offended face in this crowded mall.  Not one.  Jesus really is the reason for this season.

Christmas Cookies

Tuesday night Megan and I went over  to Erica's house to bake cookies with the girls.  Baking with a toddler is SO fun!!

Piper did great mixing the dough!

Savannah's little hands just about wiggled off trying to get to that big red bowl!!

Piper mastered the rolling pin right away.  Please ignore our looks...obviously we were not interested in looking good for the camera.

Poor Savannah did not get a turn at rolling the dough!  What a fit she pitched!!!

Starting to cut them out

She caught on so fast!

Meg and Piper checking to see if they are ready.

Putting on the frosting and sprinkling on some Christmas sugar.  She was being so careful.

You can never have enough sugar...can you??

There, we are all done.

Piper was so fun and so sweet!  I love doing these little fun things with her.  I hope and pray that she will remember all the little things that she and her Mimi did.  Savannah too!  Being a grandmother is really the best thing ever!!

Winding Up!

Whenever Erica feeds Savannah she twirls her little hands and feet the entire time she eats.  It is so funny!!  Erica says she was born knowing sign language and that is the sign for , "More!"  She is an eater that Savannah.  Whenever she runs out of food she pitches the biggest fir you have ever seen.  Erica now plugs her mouth with a paci very quick so Savannah doesn't flail herself to pieces.  This little one is a very dramatic baby.  I predict a severe high maintenance virus attacking this household in the future!!!

Does she not look like she has been wound up and is now winding down???  All she needs is a string in her back to pull.

broken

to be broken......means

"fractured, smashed, or splintered "

"imperfect or incomplete; fragmentary"

that describes our hearts to day as we watch in pure anguish the news of a horrific crime against the most innocent of lives....children

describes our world...so broken and twisted by sin

there are no words to say that are sorrowful enough for these families...none.  i am just so deeply sorry for these parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters that are left in this broken world.  i held my grandbabies extra hard today.  kissed them one more time.  whispered in their tiny ears how much i loved them.  last night was the very first time that piper got to spend the night with me.  i put her in my bed to sleep with me and in the night she held my hand.  so tiny and frail were her little two year old fingers.  when i think of anyone ever harming her...scaring her...even hurting her feelings...i go into tiger-mode.  i get very upset to this day if anyone even hurts my own grown daughters feelings.  this vicious crime against these babies in connecticut is just unspeakable.  i have heard so many things and details on the murderer of these babies.  honestly, i don't care.  i do not want him to receive any kind of recognition at all.  i have already heard today that the words autism, aspergers syndrome, mental illness, all thrown around.  what i have not heard is evil and demonic.  there is no doubt in my mind that this monster was possessed by the devil himself.  yes, that does sound harsh but the fact remains that satan is alive and roaring around this world like a hungry lion.  wanting to kill and destroy.  those sweet babies were all ushered into the immediate presence of Jesus....no doubt.  praise GOD for that.  this was done out a purely evil will.  I am praying so hard for the survivors of this and knowing that God will comfort his children left on this earth.

Psalm 46:1   God is our refuge and strength, always  ready to help in times of trouble.

Sitting With Santa

Last night I went with Blake, Erica, the girls and Megan to go see Santa at the church that Megan and Thad attend.  He is just the greatest Santa Claus.  So sweet and kind.  Both Piper and Savannah sat right on his lap.  No real smiles but no tears either.

Savannah really liked looking at Santa.  Piper...not so much!

Who is this guy Mimi???  Piper is still not so sure!!

My sweet, baby girls.  I just love them to pieces.  This is Piper's third Christmas and Savannah's first.  The time is just going so fast!!

My latest OBSESSION

I have discovered (along with millions) the pure pleasure of "Duck Dynasty".  I absolutely, handsdown love this show!!!  All my co-workers so too.  It is the highlight conversation of our day.  I really think these are just amazing guys.  They love their families.  their children and grandchildren.  They live life to the utmost limit.  And they do it all without filthy talk, ugly actions and keep their clothes on.  Ah-may-zing!!  In this day and age most of what is on television is just trash.  I had really only watched the food network until I discovered the joys of this show.  I have inserted a few clips from this show below but the first one is what I truly love about this family.  They are born again Christians and do not hide it or try to pretty it up.  They love the Lord and truly serve Him.  Listen as Willie talks about his faith at Harding University just this past November.  It will really touch you.

To say that they have run-ins with wildlife is a huge understatement.

Phil is one of my favorites.  To me, he is a wonderful father and husband.  As long as Miss Kay (his wife) is happy he is just fine.  A true husband and father for sure!!!

Sweet Baby Savannah

Last night I got a chance to keep my newest grandbaby, Savannah.  She is starting to be such a sweetie pie. She has had a season of....errr..."crankiness???"  Let's just say her middle name should be Drama instead of Lilly.  But she is finally coming around!!!  Yay!!!!  She was so sweet and precious.  She is really starting to babble and talk.  She is starting to just have the biggest and funniest grin all the time.  She lights right up whenever people she knows come into a room.  She especially grins big when she sees her daddy!  She loves, and I mean loves, to eat.  She waves her little hands out to the side the whole time as if she is saying, "Hurry up and feed me faster!!"  She and I had a wonderful time of singing and playing and talking.  she loves her bath and likes to be rocked and held.  Having her by myself was extra sweet because I don't often get to be with just her.  So sweet!

Here we are sitting in our bumbo seat wanting some supper!

She sits up really good now and I wanted to put her in front of their tree.  Such big, blue eyes!!

There is just something about baby feet that I just love.  So sweet to kiss on!!!

And sweet babies in the tub.  They are so fun to just watch splash and play in the water.

See Mimi...I can dry myself off.  Just help me with my lotion and my pajamas....ok?

This morning our Tiny Tots Choir sand their Christmas songs.  I did not get any really good photos of Piper but she was in the front and the sweet baby rang her bell but didn't sing a note!!  She saw her mommy and just wanted her.  She really does sing all the time and knew all her Christmas songs.

"Uncle" Thad (to be) had Savannah duty this morning.  Savannah loves her some Uncle Thad!  I am so glad he loves him some Savannah and Piper time!!

He is so warm and cozy I think I will just nap right here!

Another Fave...

I have had something to do every.  single.  day!!  My schedule has been ridiculous to say the least.  I don't know what I am doing but I am hardly ever home.  Anyway, I will be doing some more in depth, picture loaded posts later.  I bet y'all can hardly wait!!??  So to tide you over here is another of my favorite songs for Christmas.  And to prove that I am not 100% hillbilly this is Harry Connick Jr.  I adore his singing.  Happy day!
