Coming Home

Blake and Erica brought little Savannah home yesterday.  Everyone is doing just wonderful.

Just like with Piper I am going to take Savannah's photo on the 25th of each month to chart her growth.  Look how little she is beside Mr Frog.

Of course, big sister Piper had to help hang some balloons on the mailbox.  She is such a great helper.

Oh my!  This picture just kills me.  I can just imagine Piper whispering, "I love you little Savannah.  I will always be there for you."

Savannah is whispering back to Piper in that magical language, "I know you will Piper, I know. I love you too."

I took this today.  A little snug bug in her bed sound asleep.

She is so precious.  Who could ever in this world hurt such a tiny fragile creature???

Of course my dear friend Kelley had to stop by and see her girls.  She is the one who was Piper's morning babysitter.  She isn't going to keep the girls in late summer if Erica goes back full time to work.  I am praying SO hard that Erica gets to stay home!!! We are just trusting the Lord for provision.

I got to be in a photo with my newest little grandbaby.  Nothing could wipe the smile off my face.  I adore babies!  I hope I have loads of grandchildren!!  God is so good to me.  What a blessed woman I am to have these little joys brought into my life.

Guess Who's Here???

I am thrilled to announce that my second Grandaughter, SAVANNAH LILY MARTIN, was born at 2:07 p.m. on Friday May 25, 2012.  She weighed in at 7 lbs 8.4 oz and 21 inches long.  She has dark hair too!  I am so proud of my daughter.  She did an amazing job.  this baby was in a hurry to get here too.  Erica arrived at the hospital, walked about 4 laps, went to be re-checked because the pain was getting a little tough to walk through.  Bingo!  She went from a 5.5 to a perfect 10 in fifteen minutes.  She pushed about 5 contractions and this little beauty was born.  Watching my baby give birth is the most precious moment of my life.

This was lap number one...Still smiling!

                                               First hug...amazing

Everyone is just all smiles!

                                                       Daddy's little girl.

I am one super-duper happy Mimi!  I love my girls!!

Aunt Megan and Savannah.  Megan is the best Aunt...ever!

Piper holding her baby sister!  She could not stop hugging and kissing her.  She will be the best big sister!

Daddy and his sweet girls!!  Blake is a great daddy.  I am very proud of him too!

2 + 2 = love.  God is so good.  What a blessing it is to have a family.

Olympic Future??

Piper loves "fwimming" but she is obsessed with diving.  Every time she gets in her baby pool she looks at you and say, "Dive??"  I have no clue where she picked this up at all and neither do her mommy and daddy. Could there be a future Olympic diver coming up??  Who knows?

First off, look at her form..  Arms high, Palms facing each other, Expression is focused.

And she launches...I vote for a perfect 10.

At the next days practice.  Form is not as tight but she is only 21 months old.  There is a little time to tighten up the performance people!!

Look at that landing.  There is NO splash.  Once again a perfect 10!  Amazing.

You think I am amazing, Mimi???  Of course I do sugar.  You are just amazing to me no matter what you do.

Preparing for her final dive.  Silence everyone....

Well, mommy, what do you think?

I think you are wonderful Piper.  The best diver ever!

Yay!!  Now it's time for ice cream sandwiches.  They beat gold medals every time!!!

Bonzai!!

My feisty little grand daughter loves the water.  Today she wore herself out jumping and diving in her little pool.  I don't have a clue where she learned to dive.  Me, her mommy or daddy have shown her but sure enough...she's diving.  It is so funny I can't stand it!!  Also, for some reason everytime she jumps she yells, "Bonzai"!   She heard me say it yesterday and thought it was hilarious.  Here is a short video.

I love this baby so much!!!!  What a joy she is to my life.

Mother's Day

Today was a great Mother's Day.  We all went to church together and heard a great and challenging sermon on being a Godly mother.  Then we came back to my house and had a light lunch.  Piper gets super sleepy on Sundays and is so ready for a nap by the time we get out of church.  She was about to fall out on my lap! Poor baby,  She really only has her paci at nap time but there was no moving it for a photo shoot!  She was t-i-r-e-d!

Megan, Me and Erica.  Piper was on my lap and Erica has "little miss-priss" number two sitting on hers!!  I am very biased but I think I have some beautiful girls.  Beautiful on the inside as well as the outside!!

Erica is getting very ready for this little one to make her appearance.  She looks so good and just glows.

Pipey was having some snuggle time with her Aunt Meg.  She loves her Aunt Meg and the feeling is mutual.

After waking up with some wild hair Piper was sorting through some plant I bought for she and I to plant this week.  She loves to dig in the dirt and talks about farming all the time.  She is so cute in her sailor outfit that I just can't stand it!

I wonder what this little beauty is thinking??  Each day I am just so grateful to God for this little soul.  What a blessing it is to be a mother.  And now it is even a bigger blessing to be a grandmother.

Children are a blessing from the Lord....

Strawberry Time

This weekend we went strawberry picking at a local farm.  I love going to these farms and picking my own berries.  My girls always loved it when they were little and Piper loved it too.  Of course Piper ate way more than she picked but that is all part of the fun!

I think I like strawberries, Mama!

That one was really good.

I think she shoved a whole one in her mouth.

This one she was giving a big kiss before she ate it.

She looks like she is just singing away to all the berry plants.

I love photos of babies walking away.  She looks so big and grown up.  Plus I adore those two little ponytails!

Okay, I know that Erica is going to kill me when she sees this photo but I laughed until I cried at the expression on Megan's face.  If you click on the picture and see Megan up close it is so funny.  Piper's face is funny too.  Sometimes photos are priceless.  Also, we all dressed like complete rednecks for the strawberry patch.  Except Piper looked cute!

Summer is HERE!!!

This week our temperatures soared to near 90 degrees.  I love it!  I am a summertime kind of gal.  It is never too hot for me.  Ever.  My daughter Megan is just like me in that respect.  She likes hot weather too.  I am thrilled that so far Piper loves the outdoors and all the fun things to do outside.  I am not fond of what I call "house-mouses".  When my girls were little we stayed outside all the time.  We explored the woods, played in creeks, played on swings, in the sandbox but our favorite handsdown activities had water involved.  Lots of water.  Water hoses, sprinklers and the pool were the best times.  I am so fortunate to have a pool in my yard and boy do I ever use it.  I love swimming and so do my girls.  So I was hoping that my grandbaby would too.  I do not want her to fear water at all but I do want her to have a healthy respect for water.  With a pool I am extra cautious.  So today I filled her baby pool with water and put her in....and did she ever love it!!  I laughed so hard at her sweet face and her grin that went from ear to ear when she went down the slide for the first time.  I was glad I had my camera ready to catch a few shots!

Coming down the slide all by herself!!  Sometimes I forget she is just 21 months old.

Over and over she would say, "Step up, sit down, swide and weeee!"

She was having so much fun.  I bet she slid 1000 times.

Needless to say after all the swimming and playing we took a 2 hour nap.

I cannot imagine my life without this little jewel.  She is just so precious.  I really do not understand how anyone could ever be cruel to a little child.  This world is cruel enough.  When I laid her down for her nap she was hugging me and smiled.  Such trust.  She knows I would never harm her in any way.  It is amazing that how much I love her...God loves her so much more.

Difference a year makes

I was going through some photo files and came across some pictures of Piper I took a year apart to the day.  What a difference in a year!!  She has grown so much!

Here she is just such a sweet face with big blue eyes without much hair.

Here she is rockin' the ponytail.  Such a cutie-pie!  I know this is of her back but she was just playing with a flower and looked so cute.  She sure is growing up fast!!
