Hey Y'all,
Sorry I have been absent of late...my computer has had (I think it still does) a dreaded disease of some kind. With one lousy sentence I have aleady corrected a half a dozen typos. It's crazy. A little update. The weather is finally cooler!!! Praise the Lord! School is rolling by with 25 days down. Woo-Hoo! Megan is doing great at school. She is a senior this year. Where has the time gone?? Piper is growing like a weed. Her mommy goes back to work next week and I get to keep her every day. Yeah for me!! Penny is getting more spoiled by the day. That dog is too funny..to say the least. Fall TV has started and I must confess. My name is Cindy and I am watching "Dancing With The Stars" I love Kurt Warner. He is just a great guy. I am starting two (gulp!) new Bible studies in a couple of weeks. Priscilla Shirer's "Jonah" and Kay Arthur's "Lord, Teach Me To Pray". I am excited about both. I have been praying a lot lately. A whole lot. Many different things. Things I am so grateful for. My daughters, grand daughter, parents, friends and my sisters. Natural and spiritual. Praying for renewal and healing of relationships. Praying for myself. Especially for more in the kindness department. I struggle with that at times. Struggle hard. It is so easy to be "nice". That is easy to fake. But kindness really shows. I truly want to be kind. Godly kindness. The real thing. Sometimes kindness has a tough side to it but it isn't harsh. I guess I want to lose the harshness I show at times. Lord, help me. Hope y'all have a great Fall day!
Bless Y'all,
Cindy
My goal with this blog is to keep a journal type account of my walk with Christ, my children and my grandchildren. To share what wisdom I have been given and have learned. To share the occasional recipe, photograph, funny story and possibly a teary one. God's mercies are new every morning. We each get a fresh, clean slate each day. So grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!

Mini Retreat
Hey Y'all,
Over the Labor Day weekend my dear friend, Tracy, invited me to go to their mountain house for a mini retreat of sorts. We talked and laughed and ate (she is a marvelous cook) and talked some more. We rode around on their Rhino through old roads that seemed to lead to "deliverance" country at times. We only got lost once and the scenery was wonderful. It isn't quite fall here yet but it was a crisp 46 degrees when we got up Monday. The air has that Autumn smell. Below are some the many photos I took.
A view of a beautiful hillside
One of the few deer we saw. Normally we see dozens of deer but not this time.
A pretty row of pinecones. They are plentiful this year.
A row of glistening wheat grass
A view of the tree canopy. I just love how the sun glints through the branches.
I thought this tree was so unique. Kind of lonely but standing tall and brave.
A beautiful old mountain Methodist Church.
This is one of my favorite homes.
Two fabulous barns. I love big old red barns.
These cows are not working for Chick-Filet!
What a lovely trail. Doesn't it just call your name?
It was so good to get away. I cannot thank my friend enough. I have been just so overwhelmed with grief lately and this was just such a treat. I just thank God for my sweet girlfriends.
